ATI2 Search for Business Innovation Advisor to join our successful team

Being a BIA is a job like no other, it’s a role that is varied and can lead to being a part of some exciting innovation projects within Cornwall & the Isles of Scilly. One day you might be visiting Blackflag Brewery in Perranporth and the next you could be on the river Fal with Cornwall Ferries after awarding an innovation grant to install a dynamic ‘smart’ ticketing system. It’s a highly rewarding and people-facing role.

As part of the Acceleration Through Innovation 2 project, a £3.4 million, 3 year project funded by the European Regional Development Fund, you will support all manner of businesses from a multitude of sectors, to help them overcome some of the business innovation challenges they are facing.

Meet a BIA

This is Mike Robertson, one of ATI2’s resident Business Innovation Advisors. He specialises in digital innovation and technology projects.

Backed with strong technical skills from a previous career in ICT / Engineering, business management and operational management, he has experience working with both small and large organisations.

In his spare time, Mike enjoys camping with the family and converting vans into campers. Having previously lived in South Africa, he also enjoys a BBQ and biltong! Want to work with Mike?

The Job Description

ATI2 and the University of Plymouth are inviting applications for the position of Business Innovation Advisor (BIA). As part of the successful team, you will be a key contact and referral point for first-stage enquiries from Cornish businesses.

You will be responsible for the successful achievement of project outputs and tasked with maintaining clear client engagement records that support project deliverables and outcomes.

As a BIA, your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing client liaison
  • Evaluating business needs
  • Providing business support in the form of coaching
  • Introducing innovation processes
  • Signposting to relevant support, partners and connections

You will maximise benefits to business by working closely with relevant stakeholders and regional partners; promoting the ATI2 project to ensure it is seen as open and accessible to all.

You will need to have an understanding of business innovation and be able to demonstrate a track record of working in a targeted environment using sales metrics.

This is a full-time position working 37 hours per week on a fixed-term basis until 31 March 2023 due to ERDF funding.

The position is predominantly field based with the main office being the Pool Innovation Centre, Redruth, Cornwall.
